As we all know, the perceived warmth and richness of tube amplifiers is real, and can be clearly explained in terms of the physics and acoustics of music. Similarly, there are qualities to music recorded on magnetic tape that simply aren't available in fully-digital recording environments.

La-Z-L Studio provides a mix of proven analog technology along with the convenience and precision of modern digital recording tools to help you get the very best sound possible from your studio sessions. In addition to Pro Tools from Avid (the industry standard for digital mixing and mastering), automated fading for precise mixing and many other modern digital recording tools, La-Z-L offers one of the best collections in Central Texas of first rate professional analog recording equipment, including a 24-track 2 in. Sony tape deck and a selection of tube-powered microphone pre-amps and guitar amps.

Along with its rich mix of electronic equipment, La-Z-L Studio offers a variety of fine instruments, both old and new, for your use. These include a 1936 Baldwin paino in perfect condition and a "like new" Hammond B3 with a classic Leslie speaker and many fine guitars and electric bases.

Larry Nye, the owner of La-Z-L Studio and the in-house engineer, has over 40 years of studio experience spanning almost every technology ever used in the recording industry. His knowledge and skill as an engineer and producer are extensive. His is wisdom in working with musicians comes from many years as a guitarist, having played with some of the best loved and most respected artists in the Austin music community.

La-Z-L Studio is located in Kingsland in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on Lake LBJ, an hour's drive west of Austin.. For those from out of the area who need to stay overnight, La-Z-L can provide comfortable rustic cabins on-site for your use.
